New Policy for pro-rated
fees
The OCSC Board has been getting requests
for pro-rated fees in sessions due to a variety of reasons.
Historically the guidelines established did not allow for any
pro-rated fees. Since we know a lot of kids participate in many
sports we wanted to allow for some flexibility. We have
developed the following revised guidelines surrounding reduction in
fees.
The only exception to this will be for high school students who
are not allowed to practice with club when their WIAA sport is in
session. Example - Fall season runs through Nov. 24 but boys
high school swim season starts Nov 15.
Please contact the OCSC President with any
questions.
Reduced Membership Fee Requests
A request may be made for reduced membership fees for groups 3 and
above, based on the following criteria:
1. Request must be made in writing and
submitted to the OCSC Board of Directors prior to the Early
Registration deadline of the upcoming swim season.
2. Approval of written request will be determined by the
current OCSC Treasurer and Head Coach.
3. Swimmers will be able to choose to pay for and swim during
the 1st full half or 2nd full half of the season (date identified
by the current session schedule) in order to keep attendance
manageable. This only applies to sessions 8 weeks or
greater. Reduced fees will be 65% of the full
registration fee.
4. Adequate space in groups will be determined before fee
request is granted.
5. Reduced fee request may only be made by a veteran OCSC
family, whose swimmer(s) have participated in a least 2 of the last
4 sessions.
6. Families making the request will be asked to commit to
continue swimming with OCSC in future sessions.
USA Swimming Issues New Athlete Protection Policiies, Best
Practice Guidelines
USA Swimming has issued
new
athlete protection policies and guidelines, available on its
website. The policies are designed to
ensure a positive experience and a safe environment for athletes.
These are mandatory policies that must be followed by all
organizations associated with USA Swimming. We thought it would be
a good idea to share these documents with OCSC families so that
everyone understands what safeguards and policies are in
place.
Check out the new items at our on-line
used swim supply
store. Save some money on
suits, tee-shirts, caps and more.
Here are some quick links to info on this
site that might be useful. (These are all listed on the black
toobar at the top of your screen, but I thought a short list of
some of the frequently used ones would be helpful, especially for
new families.)
Help the swim club just by pumping gas
Did you know you could
help out the swim club just by pumping gas? It's true. If you
participate in
Kwik Trip's Kwik Rewards program you can
designate your rebate to the Oregon Community Swim
Club.
Your designated charity
will receive your account's quarterly Kwik Rewards rebate and in
addition, Kwik Trip will donate an additional 5% of the amount
equal to your eligible in-store purchases made with your Kwik Card.
That's 3¢ per gallon and 15% on in-store purchases to help
your cause! Your Kwik Rewards will start adding up the very first
time you use your Kwik Card. Kwik Trip, Inc. will distribute the
accumulated donations to the designated charities quarterly (via a
check made payable to the charity).
